The purpose of the project “Inclusive Sexuality: A World of Possibilities” is to enhance the quality of life and promote the social inclusion of young people with disabilities by providing them with comprehensive training in the areas of healthy affective-sexual relationships and the prevention of violent behaviours. This project aims to address the often overlooked and underserved needs of individuals with disabilities in relation to their sexual rights, emotional well-being, and interpersonal relationships. By offering accessible and inclusive education, the initiative seeks to empower these young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate relationships in a way that is both fulfilling and respectful of their personal boundaries and those of others.
The project aims to go beyond traditional education by creating a safe, supportive environment where young individuals can explore topics related to sexuality, consent, emotional connection, and self-expression, all tailored to their unique needs and experiences. It also focuses on breaking down societal taboos and misconceptions surrounding disability and sexuality, fostering an open dialogue that encourages self-advocacy and respect for diversity. Furthermore, the project seeks to prevent violence and abuse by equipping participants with strategies for recognizing unhealthy or harmful behaviours in relationships and offering tools for conflict resolution, personal safety, and self-defence.
